Thank you

I began this course with many reservations, believing that I was in for six weeks of frustration as technology is really not my comfort zone as was concluded in the manner in which I did my initial posts. I thought that this was a course in which I would do all that is necessary to just pass and after that I will just throw it all behind me and continue as I was going before because all I really wanted to do with computers was my assignments, email and Google information. Then Aisha introduced some "awesome tools" as she would say and opened up a whole, new, exciting world for me and demonstrated how we can change our teaching and the children's learning methods by just doing a few simple things with the computer. Not only were they simple but they were also fun. Yes it was a world-wind course but more stuck with me than I originally thought and I am inspired to really get to know more about the technology so any forth coming ideas will really be appreciated. I really do thank you Aisha for making it fun and informative. I promise that my students are going to benefit from this just as I did. Thank you again and good luck.

  1. It really has been a life changing experience and hopefully students will also get the chance to have the full experience of technology integration in the classroom. We have been fortunate enough to have someone as dedicated to the cause of technology integration work with us. Our responsibility now is to do the same and have others as fired up about technology integration.

  2. I agree.I started this course on a negatie note and was so impressed with the content. My only regret is that it was too rushed.A course of this nature should be a semester or more long.Since this is such an integral part in new direction of literay.

  3. Candace, I too was pretty alarmed by the fact that I had to be giving up a major part of my holiday to do a course that seemed so alien to me, especially as I saw the limited resources at my own school to facilitate this dream experience of ICT integration in the classroom. As the days progressed my interest in Web 2.0 technology grew and right now I am like a child with a brand new toy on Christmas morning! I have been creating Ebook after Ebook much to my own amusement.
Now I feel motivated to want to share what I know with my colleagues as well as clamor for the implementation of information and computer technology in classrooms and labs throughout the school. Many of our students have low literacy levels and as such need all the help and motivation to assist them on their pathway to academic success. Thanks again Aisha, Murella and Cherisse!
